Volunteering opportunities

Volunteering is at the very heart of our organisation.

The energy, initiative and generosity of our volunteers is key to a successful, sustainable future – both for Port Sunlight Village Trust and the village as a whole.

Our volunteers donate their valuable time right across the charity. They provide guided tours of the village; research our museum collections; help to maintain our parks and gardens; steward in our museums and historic buildings; support our social groups and elderly residents; and so much more.

To find out more about our volunteering opportunities and to apply, please email [email protected]. If you need any assistance, please call 0151 644 4800.

Bridge Cottage Art Exhibition Steward Volunteer

This volunteer role will support Bridge Cottage’s new exhibition of works by Anthony Brown, enabling us to create an enjoyable experience for visitors. The Gallery at Bridge Cottage has established itself as one of Wirral’s most exciting new spaces for contemporary art since opening its gallery space in 2024, with previous exhibitions including Women at Work: the Unilever’s contemporary art collection, Independents Biennial 2025, and Francesco Mellina’s Total Stranger featuring portraits of Pete Burns. This new exhibition will feature a range of mixed media portraits by Liverpool based artist Anthony Brown, celebrating individuals who have had an impact on the Wirral Peninsula.

This exhibition will be manned by volunteers only, usually working together in pairs with support from on-site staff. You’ll be providing a warm and friendly welcome to our visitors, answering general questions about the exhibition, assisting with the management of visitor flow and visitor numbers, and undertaking audience research on behalf of PSVT, e.g. visitor surveys.
