Thank you for your interest in sharing your stories and memories of Port Sunlight. These personal experiences help to bridge knowledge gaps in the village’s history and enhance other areas, and may help contribute to future engagement and oral history projects.

What stories are we looking for?

We’re looking for any stories or memories of:

Living in Port Sunlight
Working in Port Sunlight, either at Lever Brothers/Unilever or at another organisation based in the village
Clubs and societies in Port Sunlight
Events in Port Sunlight, e.g. Beatles’ concert, Founder’s Day etc.
Services in Port Sunlight e.g. the Fire Service, Hospital, Post Office etc.
The effects of global and national events on Port Sunlight
The Leverhulme family e.g. their activity in the village, working at Thornton Manor etc.
A family member who has passed down their memories of Port Sunlight
Any other interesting stories related to Port Sunlight

Port Sunlight Village Trust intend to use the stories and memories shared with us to enhance our museum interpretation, online engagement, learning offer, trails and other activities, as well as creating a foundation for future oral history projects.
