Rescheduled date announced for autumn Sugar & Spice Festival in Port Sunlight
18 Sep 2025
A ‘food, drink and little luxuries’ festival is returning to the picturesque village of Port Sunlight for its autumn edition, bringing together Merseyside’s best local makers. Due to Storm Amy, the original date of Saturday 4 October has been cancelled and a new rescheduled date of Saturday 1 November has been announced.
Presented by Port Sunlight Village Trust and award-winning Wirral chocolatier The Chocolate Cellar, the Sugar & Spice Festival will be open to explore between 11am–4pm. It will take over the beautiful Diamond landscaped park opposite Port Sunlight Museum in the centre of the village.
The festival will be completely free to enter and include over 40 stalls where visitors can explore and enjoy a range of flavours from around the world. From indulgent chocolate and homemade honey to authentic spiced blends and Lebanese breads, the festival will offer something to suit all taste buds and give visitors the chance to discover something new.
Highlights
Some of the sugary and spicy highlights include the flavours of Namak Kitchen, Mediterranean spicy and sweet treats, Italian flatbreads and delicious doughnuts. Visitors will also enjoy a selection of little luxuries on offer from local makers and creators such as That’s Sew Laura’s colourful accessories, luxurious home fragrances by Sam’s Naturally Handmade, a taste of nature from award winning local maker Foragers Fancy and even some tasty treats for our four-legged friends.
In addition to the makers, visitors can enjoy live performances from the Sing The Musicals Choir and Port Sunlight Ukulele Group alongside a newly introduced wellbeing area with yoga and sound bath taster sessions with Moonbeam Yoga and Energy Works Wirral.
Autumn trail
Families are invited to join in the festivities through an autumn-themed family trail, where they will explore the village to discover hidden acorns and claim their prize. Tickets are £6 each. Pre-booking is essential for the autumn trail and numbers are limited, so families are encouraged to book early to avoid disappointment. Book tickets here.
Foodie Tour
Also new for this year is a special Port Sunlight Foodie Tour where visitors can explore the hidden stories of the village’s food and drink from the past, including the chance to sample the recently rediscovered Port Sunlight Bun, an early 1900s attempt to create a distinctive pudding to rival the Eccles cake. Tickets are limited and pre-booking is essential – book tickets here.
