Statement: Travellers’ camp by Church Drive Primary School 03/07/2024

UPDATE 03/07/2024: Following PSVT’s quick intervention, we can confirm that the group from the travellers’ community who had set up camp yesterday afternoon have now left the village.

STATEMENT 02/07/2023: Earlier today (Tuesday 2 July), a group from the travelling community set up camp on the wooded area between Church Drive Primary School and Corniche Road without permission. This includes several vehicles and caravans.

As this land is owned by Port Sunlight Village Trust, we are working closely with Merseyside Police to resolve the situation. A bailiff will also be preventing further vehicles from entering the site, as well as supplying a marked unit to act as a watching brief and visual deterrent until the group moves on.

Our security services contractor Custodian are on site and will be monitoring the area during their usual operating hours until midnight.
