Sunlight Bees

Discover the story of Sunlight Bees, local beekeepers who were inspired by Port Sunlight’s bees to start producing an award-winning range of honey-based products.

“Welcome to Sunlight Bees! We are Helen and Angie. We are natural beekeepers who took up beekeeping as a hobby in 2017. Since then our hobby has become my passion and we are keen to ensure the sustainability and dedication to the protection of all bees!

In 2022, Helen took early retirement as a Clinical Lead from Wirral St John’s Hospice and now fully focuses on Sunlight Bees which has collected many accolades spanning far and wide and are championed in and around the Port Sunlight’s local community for spreading knowledge about bees and the amazing work they do for the planet. Angie has also retired early recently and between us we manage the bees, our products and education sessions.

As residents of the village, we are very proud to make our award-winning products available through Port Sunlight Museum’s gift shop and online shop.

As well as the many products made from our hives, Sunlight Bees also provide educational workshops to groups and projects of all ages and abilities. To date, our audiences have ranged from 4 years to 104!”
