Port Sunlight is nestled between Liverpool and Chester, near to the M53, and close to mainline and local railway and bus services.
Driving and parking
If you are travelling from Liverpool, use the Birkenhead (Queensway) tunnel then follow the signs. From elsewhere, leave the M53 at junction 5 and follow the signs for Port Sunlight Village. Use the AA Route Planner to plan your journey.
There is a free car park outside the museum.
This is available next to the museum green, the open area at the end of the Lady Lever Art Gallery or directly behind the gallery. Please do not park on pavements or directly outside residents’ properties.
The nearest local stations are Bebington and Port Sunlight on the Chester/ Ellesmere Port to Liverpool lines (Wirral line). Use the Merseyrail journey planner for service information.
From January to June 2017 there will be a disruption to the rail service from Liverpool to Wirral as the underground rail track is being replaced. Services continue with the use of rail replacement buses between Liverpool and Birkenhead. Full information from Merseyrail can be found here.
There are a number of options including:
- 464 bus to Bebington Road (from Sir Thomas St in Liverpool)
- 38 bus to Bebington railway station (runs between Clatterbridge Hospital and West Kirby station)
