Most of the village is flat and accessible for those using wheelchairs and with limited mobility. If you need to borrow a wheelchair we have two available at no charge – just ask at the museum’s information desk. The village also has numerous benches.
Wheelchair accessible toilets can be found on the ground floor of the museum, near to the entrance, and at the Old School Room at the Lyceum.
The main museum entrance is at street level and there is a lift to the first floor where you will find the Tea Room. Table service is available for those with mobility issues. The museum itself is fully accessible to people using wheelchairs.
Educational and supporting materials will be made available for different audiences and abilities, as required and as resources allow.
If you are making a group visit please let us know if your group includes wheelchair users or people with mobility problems when you make your booking. This is so we can talk to you about emergency evacuation procedures.
