7.3 Village residents on a conservation workshop

Property conservation

Nearly all houses in Port Sunlight are Grade II Listed and the village is a Conservation Area which means that there are a number of restrictions and controls, particularly regarding the exterior of most homes, that residents need to follow.

The Trust is responsible for conserving the outstanding heritage of Port Sunlight, and we will help you look after your property. We understand that not everyone is a conservation expert, which is why our Conservation Advisor is on hand with information on how to make alterations and improvements to your heritage-listed home. We also hold regular Heritage Support Evenings where you can learn how to look after your property.

Guidance on some of the major aspects of home management are covered here  and for more information or help please contact our Asset Management Officer (Conservation), Lizzie Heywood, at e.heywood@portsunlightvillage.com or 0151 644 4813 to arrange a site visit.

There is also much more information on the Port Sunlight building conservation hub website.
