Around The Village

There’s plenty to explore in Port Sunlight. Aside from our award-winning museum, there are world class collections to discover in the Lady Lever Art Gallery, the imposing tombs of Lady Lever and Viscount Leverhulme at Christ Church, and the War Memorial in the centre of the village with its poignant sculptures.

Port Sunlight plays host to lively events through the year at venues such as the Gladstone Theatre, and Hulme Hall, where Ringo Starr first performed with The Beatles. The Community Hub at Bridge Cottage is the base for many local societies and crafts, while the Lyceum plays host to family craft activities and evening talks. If you’re visiting the village for its gardens and green spaces, you can also call in to the popular Port Sunlight Garden Centre.

During August there are twice-daily walking tours of the village by friendly and experienced guides, uncovering some of the hidden stories. At other times you can pick up a trail from Port Sunlight Museum shop to help you explore.

And if you really want to get know Port Sunlight, why not book a stay in our delightful holiday cottage in the heart of the village?
