Shakespeare and Sunlight

shakespeare-event

To tie in with National Shakespeare Week we have an evening talk with a difference!

Tom Hughes, Heritage Officer, will begin by sharing some lesser-known links with the Bard around Port Sunlight Village, from a replica of Shakespeare’s birthplace, to the occasions when William Lever quoted the Bard in his addresses.  Then the evening will take a more musical turn as Tom explores the music of Shakespeare’s world, from the tavern to the stage, and from courtly tunes to street ballads, accompanied by performances on some of the instruments of the time.

Date: Thursday 23rd March 2017, starts 7.30pm
Venue: The Old School Room at the Lyceum
Tickets: £6
